Disturbing news

I've just read that Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran have been moved to the prison island of Nusakanbangan where they will be executed. See www.news.com.au. I am totally against capital punishment, whatever the crime. No one has the right to take another's life. It's unbelievable that this is still happening in the twenty-first century. How long will it take before the human race becomes civilised in the true sense of the word 'having an advanced culture, society.'

There is nothing 'advanced' or 'civilised' about the government and Troopers portrayed in my novel 'Sannah and the Pilgrim' - witness Sannah's punishment for seditious activities - set in 2399 so readers may rightly assume that I remain unconvinced the situation will change in the future.

I hope all those that love visiting Bali will consider whether they should return. Yes, a boycott would damage the Balinese tourism industy but it might also encourage locals to badger their government for change.
